Laurent Posted 11 February , 2005 Author Share Posted 11 February , 2005 I think his name is "John Price" you could see the news on video with the link (around 5mn50 after the beginning of the video). One man "Alain Jacques" is an archeologist from ARRAS, you could try to phone him and ask him more infos...(phone to Arras Town Hall and ask to talk to Mr Alain Jacques archeologie service) Laurent. Martin Brown Posted 14 February , 2005 Share Posted 14 February , 2005 Dear All Excavations at the Hohenzollern Redoubt have been carried out by No Man's Land, an archaeological group based in Britain but with an international membership. The purpose of the work was a field evaluation of the site's archaeological potential. As list members will appreciate we cannot comment on our results so soon after the close of fieldwork but results will be available in due course. Suffice to say there is potential for further work to assist the understanding of the battle. No Mans Land is a voluntary group that includes a number of Museum and Archaeological professionals, as well as historians and forensic specialists. We seek to work to highest professional standards. It is registered with the Council for British Archaeology and several of us, myself included, are members of the Institute of Field Archaeologists. All works at Auchy were approved by the DRAC (French National Heritage body) in Nord Pas-de-Calais and were carried out in accordance with an agreed research design. I hope that this helps clarify matters a little both about the work and the group. Members can rest easy that we are archaeologists and not "archaeologists".
