Very interesting article. Thank you for posting.

Wasn't it their orchestra that sparked the Japanese interest in Western classical music?

Really interesting. I have read a lot about the German/Japanese conflict but I am not sure that I had ever considered what happened to the men who were captured.

I too hadn't considered the captives from this theatre until a thread on this forum pointed out that there were Japanese POWs held captive in my Grandads camp in northern Germany.
