Mike RiWi Posted 15 January , 2020 Share Posted 15 January , 2020 I think I posted this question in the wrong place (In Memoriam). Many apologies. Can I assume that my relatives were killed near to where their war graves are located?
Admin DavidOwen Posted 15 January , 2020 Admin Share Posted 15 January , 2020 Hi Mike Welcome to the forum. I have sorted (removed) your other thread for you. It might be worth posting a specific question for a specific relative in the Soldiers sub forum as that may attract more attention and also result in a more detailed answer.. I am no expert but usually if soldiers graves have been moved there is reference to that on their CWGC page in the form of a Concentration Report. Good luck with your research David
ss002d6252 Posted 15 January , 2020 Share Posted 15 January , 2020 Not always - it depends if they died in action or later of wounds. Many graves were also gathered together after the war in to large cemeteries. Best bet is open a new thread specifically on the men in question in the main form - https://www.greatwarforum.org/forum/1-soldiers-and-their-units/ Craig
Dai Bach y Sowldiwr Posted 15 January , 2020 Share Posted 15 January , 2020 Thanks David, That explains why my reply has also disappeared. (Error message something like "IFH something" appeared transiently! Anyway. What Craig said...

Mike RiWi Posted 16 January , 2020 Author Share Posted 16 January , 2020 Thank you to all for your responses. I am editing my grandfather's war memories and I have also discovered I had 8 family members in the Great War and my wife had 2. The more I research the more questions I have!
