I'm trying to uncover more information on this officer. I have seen his MiC which records that he was later awarded the MBE, and his home address is given on the card as Grove Lodge, Church End, Finchley. But I'm struggling, even to find his first names. Any assistance appreciated.

  • 4 months later...

F.B.Baker joined the battalion from Cambridge OTC in October 1914. Posted to D company. After Loos he for a time commanded D company.

Up to Loos his batman was named Woodcock, wounded at Loos, then his batman was Pte C.H.Shore until 1st July 16.

Baker is listed as a member of 10th Y&L from Oct14 'to the end' on their rolls, however it does acknowledge he may hsve been posted on attachment.

He provided details of his service for the 'History of the 10th York & Lancs'. Which is where i lifted these details from.
