shaymen Posted 7 February , 2005 Share Posted 7 February , 2005 Firstly apologies if this answer to my question is obvious but I have to ask. KONDOA Posted 7 February , 2005 Share Posted 7 February , 2005 No not the whole lot just the sample months. July 1915 and April 1919. The whole war diary is quite a tome and would take considerably more than the PDF's mentioned. Roop
shaymen Posted 7 February , 2005 Author Share Posted 7 February , 2005 Roop Thanks for that - thought it must be something like that but you do get all the pages listed 26 if my maths are right for 3-50p which still seems good value. By the way do they then e-mail you the pdfs. Sorry for the questions but I need to understand. Thanks Glyn
KONDOA Posted 8 February , 2005 Share Posted 8 February , 2005 Evening Shatman, It is good value and quick for non specific needs. For more date relevant and longer time span the paper copies from NA (orderable on line) are also good value and I normally get something around £12 - 25 depending on subject sometimes as little as £8. Infantry and RFA diaries appear to be more voluminous than RGA, but that is from the sample I have, i may be wrong. Roop
shaymen Posted 8 February , 2005 Author Share Posted 8 February , 2005 Roop Thanks again for that info. I am busy searching the site at present for my needs. Cheers Glyn
shaymen Posted 8 February , 2005 Author Share Posted 8 February , 2005 Help again please Whilst searching the war diaries for the essex boys I find that you can request some for example 9th Battn but some dont have a request option for example 1st Battn. Does this simply mean that those you can't request are not available. Apologies for appearing somewhat daft but I need to learn how it works. KONDOA Posted 8 February , 2005 Share Posted 8 February , 2005 Documents online have only a selection of diaries available. NA main site (Procat) has the rest if they survived. Roop
