Holy Trinity, known locally as A Igreja Inglesa - The English Church, was built in the early 19th century to serve the spiritual needs of the British ex-patriot population. Built in the neo-classical style it lies off a steep narrow lane in the backstreets of the capital Funchal surrounded by a large garden. I contains a small number of  WW1 memorials to British soldiers along with a surprise in post 2
