DixieDivision1418 Posted 6 November , 2019 Share Posted 6 November , 2019 While Bavaria is a predominately Catholic country, I was interested in learning if anyone knows of Protestant soldiers in the Bavarian army durig the War. I expect most were from the Franconia and Palatine regions annexed by Bavaria in 1815, but it could be interesting if there were any from Altbayern. AOK4 Posted 6 November , 2019 Share Posted 6 November , 2019 Yes of course, there were quite a bit of protestants (and Jews) living in Bavaria and serving in the Bavarian army.
HenryTheGerman Posted 6 November , 2019 Share Posted 6 November , 2019 ... and the other way round: There were also Bavarian and Baden Württembergian catholics serving in Northern German units among protestants. Confession was not a big issue.
