Army School

Can anyone please explain what Army School was (in France).

The clip below is from the medal roll for an infantry man (there are no service papers for him).

Also, does it translate as Attached/Reserve Army School?

Schools were training establishments, usually specific to a particular arm, e.g. Musketry School, Artillery School, Lewis Gun & Trench Mortar School. They were principally intended to train officers and NCOs as instructors, but they also needed other ranks for administrative roles such as cooks and clerks. It seems likely that your man, as an infantryman, was attached to the Musketry School operated by Reserve (later Fifth) Army.
