williywonker Posted 25 October , 2019 Share Posted 25 October , 2019 (edited) Does anyone have any documentary evidence as to whether the Army Nursing Services (ie QAIMNS; QAIMNSI and TNS) were classified as a non-combatant units in the Great War. I have evidence that all auxiliary nursing services were designated thus, including those who served with the Red Cross. I understand that members of the QAIMNS etc did not receive a war gratuity or disability/wound pension in the same way that wounded servicemen did; instead they had to apply for compensation from the Ministry of Pensions, which leads me to believe they may have been similarly classified as non-combatant . Any thoughts? Mal Edited 25 October , 2019 by williywonker
