Remembered Today:

Can anyone help in reading this please?

My great great uncle was Private William Gallant of the 83rd Training reserve battalion and then 259 AEC. He was attached to 4th school of musketry in France. Called up 9th June 1917.

I have his service record but cannot read something on it. Can anyone tell me if he was on a charge and if so what for? Or does it record something unrelated to a charge?

This my first post on your excellent forum so hope this is in the right place.

Thank you!GBM_WO363-4_007407521_00794_kindlephoto-3346852.jpg.52314264166a0112cbfb691d94293f83.jpgGBM_WO363-4_007407521_00794_kindlephoto-3420878.jpg.891dec2140fcdff49b6a318180eb117b.jpg

Mrs T, welcome to the Forum. It looks to me as if the Officer Commanding B Company of the 83rd Training Reserve Battalion has certified that your gg uncle had a clean sheet (no offences).

Exactly.  The certification usually has a form of words testifying to no entries.  It relates to his service up to Sep 1917.
