Colin W Taylor Posted 14 October , 2019 Share Posted 14 October , 2019 All, According to the diary of Capt Warde-Aldam's diary (CAB45), Somers-Cocks was in No 2 Company with W-A as his 2IC. S-C went over to France on 13 August with the Bn and led a platoon into action on 14 Sept but was separated from W-A. S-C rejoined next day with his wounded company commander and went sick on 16 Sept. Without the condition mentioned above I'd have read between the lines that it might have been an issue over nerves or shell shock.
