Wilfred William Sandy was discharged from Northern  General Hospital  I believe 5/9/1917 after being injured sometime after 15/7/16. He served with the Royal Fusiliers, 34th or 36th battalion. He talked about "the Buffs". I am trying to find more details and wonder if anyone can help.I have a number on the short service form G/24839 and card no.50751275..

He's in Pension records on Ancestry, bur incorrectly as RWF below.

Name:Wilfred William Sandy

Gender:Male

Birth Date:abt 1894

Age:21

Document Year:1915

Residence Place:4 Cossington Road, Canterbury

Regimental Number:24839

Form Title:Short Service Attestation

He attested on 11/12/15 and joined the Royal Fusiliers in May 1916 - 'The Buffs' was crossed out on the service record.. His MIC and Medal roll shows just Royal Fusiliers.

He was in the 14th Battalion then joined the BEF on 15/07/16 in the 10th Battalion. No sign of 34th or 36th Battalions in his records.

He was wounded and discharged on 05/09/17 (2nd Northern General Hospital, Leeds). In the Silver War Badge records.

Born 18th December 1893, died in Basingstoke 1972.
