:blink:When considering a possible medal buy can someone please tell me whether it is possible to do a 'quick check' to identify a soldiers battalion from the details on the medal alone without downloading his MIC , thanks . Steve .

Steve

Sometimes even the MIC doesn't contain the Btn details.

CWGC website shows some, if recipient was KIA.

;) Cheers Mark , it doesn't look like there is a quick way of finding this information out when time is against you ( e-baying etc ) ! I have PM'd you Mark . Steve .

I think as I may have mentioned before, if you come across a Middx medal with a PS prefix to the number then he will be an original 16th Bn man. The later recruits, as you know had G prefixes - but men with these prefixes could have served in any battalion, so there is no easy way, as the others have mentioned.

;) Thanks guys , it would seem then that unless the information has already been researched it would be very difficult to collect medals by battalion as opposed to regiment , unless of course the soldier in question was killed in action . Steve .
