sadbrewer Posted 20 September , 2019 Posted 20 September , 2019 (edited) He was in the casualty list published 18/9/17 as wounded. He may also be in an April list of the same year but unfortunately the archive is not working properly. There are a couple of detailed trees on Ancestry...if they are correct it looks like he's a Yorkshire lad...b 1877 Laisterdyke, d 1949 Wortley. Married Annie Elizabeth Ryder in Bradford in 1907. In 1911 his son Jack was born in Bradford. The family lived at 5 Rhine St, Bowling. David was a shop assistant in a leather goods shop. A David & Annie Elizabeth Coultas lived in Liverpool in the early 1920's at 15 Martensen Street. In 1939 they are at 329 Manchester Road, Stocksbridge. He is a foreman in a steel warehouse. IRC Kevin Posted 20 September , 2019 Posted 20 September , 2019 Although Gazetted on 7 October 1918, he's in the May list of Immediate Awards in 55 Division's Q&A Diary, so it's safe to speculate this was for the German April offensive against Givenchy/Festubert- certainly all the 1/4th & 1/5th KORL and 1/6th KLR men in the same list were. Unfortunately, I only photographed the award citations for those particular battalions in the Jeudwine Papers. (Someone on the forum has copies of the lot, though I forget who)
