Can anyone shed any light on when these sporrans were worn, It looks late Victorian/WW1 period to me, but i have no idea. Anyone have photos of a piper wearing this style.

Any help appreciated.  Cheers.

Looking into this further it’s apparent that it is in fact a standard pipers sporran of the RSF from 1881 to amalgamation with the HLI in 1959.

Looks like a standard RSF piper's sporran.

I always did wonder though why they chose to have them engraved in such an amateur looking manner!

Hi

Reference the large photo above of the pipe band I can identify all the metal items shown except the two badges on the cross belt above the buckle.  Can anyone help?

It’s the second pattern of baldrick badge worn by pipers of the Royal Scots Fusiliers, which with its added grenade was different to the first pattern.
