penstemon5 Posted 13 September , 2019 Share Posted 13 September , 2019 Can you tell me if I can find out who was given the number Z2436 in the Rifle Brigade. I am writing biographies for all the men on our village WW1 memorial. So far 13 boys have consecutive numbers in the Rifle Brigade, all joining on 3rd Sep 1914. I do not have a name for Z2436 as the list on the Service Medal and Award Rolls card jumps from 2435 to 2438 Thank you Penstemon

stiletto_33853 Posted 14 September , 2019 Share Posted 14 September , 2019 (edited) Z/2436 was the number given to William Bearing. Enlisted 3/9/14, did not serve overseas, hence no entry on medal rolls. He appears on Silver War Badge Roll M/1676, discharged 17/7/15. His record appears in Ancestry, where these papers come from. Who else are you looking at in the RB's see if I can help any. Andy Edited 14 September , 2019 by stiletto_33853
stiletto_33853 Posted 16 September , 2019 Share Posted 16 September , 2019 (edited) Z/2437 is Frederick George Tinney, similarly no overseas, discharged 16/11/14, he appears on the same SWB Roll.
