It seemed authentic to me (I know, I know) and the early battle scenes were among the most realistic portrayal that I have seen on screen. Again, not that I have ever been anywhere near an infantry battle, but I have read accounts of GW infantry attacks—-the fear, confusion, desperation, kill or be killed etc. were all shown.
