Morance Posted 2 September , 2019 Posted 2 September , 2019 Hello everyone, anyone can help me ? On this picture, German soldiers in Ath (Belgien) in 1914-1915, but what unit ? Cavalry unit ? Thanks a lot for your help. S. Morancé
AOK4 Posted 2 September , 2019 Posted 2 September , 2019 Since they were stationed in Ath, chances are real they were some Landwehr or Landsturm Eskadron of a Husaren-Regiment. Is there nothing on the back? Jan
charlie2 Posted 2 September , 2019 Posted 2 September , 2019 The piping on the shoulder boards suggests that they are group of „Einjährig Freiwilligen“ in a Husaren Regiment. Charlie

Charlie No, it's just the typical hussar shoulder board (they were coloured according to the regiment). Jan
GreyC Posted 2 September , 2019 Posted 2 September , 2019 Hi, in August of 1914 the 3rd Escadron of HR 15 marched/rode through Ath. The photo was taken after 10th or 16th of Dec., but maybe one of the guys is from that unit. They seem to be from different Husar Regiments, considering the different collar colors. GreyC
Morance Posted 3 September , 2019 Author Posted 3 September , 2019 Thanks a lot for your answers ! I will put another picture with Hussaren in Ath, taken later (1915 or 1916), perhaps it is same unit Sébastien
