Remembered Today:

35th Battalion AIF - 12th October 1917

I'm looking into the action of 3rd Australian Division's (II Anzac Corps) action on 12th October 1917.

The War Diary for the 35th Battalion for the action on that day is a little sparse to say the least.

Is there anymore detailed information of the Battalion's action that day - the other battalions in the 9th Brigade involved in the fighting seem to have detailed the course of events quite well.

Thanks in advance

Thanks Max,

I have the 9th Brigade Diary - I just thought there may be something else out there for the 35th

I take it you have exhausted Google? The Charles Bean official history?  There appears to be an active Facebook page.  If the official diaries don't have enough detail, then I suspect you'd be looking for personal reminisces.

Thanks guys,

Sorry for the late response.

The 9th Brigade diary covers the bigger picture but obviously the adjt or asst adjt of the 35th Battalion at this time were either very very busy or had become casualties - the diary is very scant.
