Hi.

Could anybody inform me where the 10th Battalion Duke of Cornwalls Light Infantry were on the 22nd -24th March 1918 and what actions they were involved in. I have tried to find the battalion war diary on Ancestry but could not find it. I am beginning to think that ancestry do not have it on their site. Your help would be most welcome.

Regards

Andy

The 10th DCLI were the Divisional Pioneers of the 2nd Division. There is an official history of that Division by Everard Wyrall which can be read online at archive.org.

The narrative for the period  includes its first mention of the 10th Battalion on the night of the 21st / 22nd March as being at Lechelle, (Page 546 of Volume 2).

https://archive.org/details/historyofsecondd02wyra/page/546

A few pages earlier there is a map. (opposite page 541).

Hope that helps,

Cheers

Peter
