CROONAERT Posted 4 February , 2005 Share Posted 4 February , 2005 Martin. The map extract on the thread mentioned is (I think) from 57dSE 1&2 ed.2(A) dated 7th February 1916. The map that was used for the preparations for the Somme battle was edition 2B and 2B(S), both dated 28th April 1916 (Though British trenches on 2B(S) are dated 14th June 1916). As you can see, 2B(S) is the one to get your hands on for 1st July. Unfortunately, I haven't got 2B(S) (wish I had though!!!). However, here's an extract from 2B (28th April).....not that many differences, but it's a nearer date.... Dave Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
