Maricourt Posted 9 August , 2019 Share Posted 9 August , 2019 Er Cof/In Memory of the Penmaenmawr Quarry Boys who 104 years ago today landed at "C" Beach, Suvla Bay, Gallipoli and went into battle the following day led by the Quarry Manager, Major Augustus "Gus" Wheeler. Major Wheeler was the oldest casualty of the day and Pte Dowell the youngest. They worked together, joined together and fought together and with all our Pen Boys who lost their lives in the Great War are not forgotten. They lie together a long way from their beautiful mountain home. Maricourt
