Please can anyone help by letting me know which squadrons and aircraft types were stationed at Newlyn during the First World War?

Many thanks for any help.

Regards,

David

Hi David

the only unit based at this base was 235 Sqn which was formed at Newlyn from 424 & 425 Flts in Aug 1918 equipped with Shorts 184 & was disbanded on 22 Feb 1919

My old list of Great War aerodromes in the UK says that Newlyn was an RNAS seaplane station prior to 1 April 1918, but says nothing about the unit(s) that used the place.

The Fleet Air Arm Museum at Yeovilton may be able to answer your query as they supplied the photos.
