Marilyne Posted 30 October , 2019 Share Posted 30 October , 2019 Is there an aim to this thread, other than just posting one grave after the other?? I mean, it's a gorgeous place (been there, must have some pics somewhere), and a very interersting cemetery history wise, so surely the forum would greatly benefit from more specific historic bits about the men and the cemetery. Ditto. I know it potentially makes headstone photos available for relatives to find with a web search but there are other websites much better focused and suited to finding pictures of headstones - if you've got them, then why not get them added there instead? I too think more 'added value' is required.
Kitchener's Bugle Posted 6 November , 2019 Author Share Posted 6 November , 2019 Thanks for your comments/feedback. Those who know me and who have read my posts are more than likely aware that I like to go about visiting War Memorials and Cemeteries (amongst other things!) I like to make people aware of these locations and give a bit of history on there where I can. I then share these images with the point being that others can then take them free of charge. This of course is for family members, those researching individuals, Medals, units etc. I have no problem with these being used on other websites or them being saved to PC's or copied and pasted etc. Individuals have contacted me on this forum asking can they be used on their website or even in books and I always give my permission.....furnishing them with a higher pixel quality image if they wish. I would like to have the time to provide more information with each post and research them but it takes a fair bit of time cropping and reducing the file size to post them on the site along with getting the basic details of the casualty. I have said that if people would like to add what details they have or additional info then that would be great. Sorry if you find it tedious or boring Regards KB.
