ServiceRumDiluted Posted 8 July , 2019 Share Posted 8 July , 2019 (edited) Looks like an MG 08/15, the 'portable' version of the MG08. Two more can be seen top right. Edited 8 July , 2019 by ServiceRumDiluted

Dave1418 Posted 8 July , 2019 Share Posted 8 July , 2019 Hi not just one but all three are MG08/15 with the large double row ammunition cap on the floor. The entrenching tools are of the usual length and not the shortened machine gunners variety. Dave

Dave MG 08/15 were normal infantry weapons basically, the specialised machine gunners (machine gun companies of infantry units and Maschinengewehr-Scharfschützen units) manned the heavy MG 08's. Mark Finneran Posted 1 December , 2019 Share Posted 1 December , 2019 RGJDEE the thread could go and on for ever if this was to be all about MG08/15 However let me draw your attention to the MG08/15 thread in this section, and in particular post/item/photo Number 28. You will now see my interest in your photo. Mark
