Mark1959 Posted 17 June , 2019 Share Posted 17 June , 2019 William Hughes Perkins appears not to have a Star so if the picture is taken in Egypt in 1915 it logically cannot be him.
alf mcm Posted 17 June , 2019 Share Posted 17 June , 2019 Ancestry's record set 'British Postal Sevice Appointment Books' may narrow the search if the men were telegraphists.https://www.ancestry.com/search/collections/britipsapoint/?name=_caple&event=1908&count=50&event_x=10-0-0_1-0&name_x=1_1 This list narrows Caple' to Samuel or Stanley. Mark1959 Posted 17 June , 2019 Share Posted 17 June , 2019 Any views on Francis Arthur Perkins http://www.legacyquarterly.com/FRANK-PERKINS-DIESEL-ENGINE-COMPANY Know to have served Gallipoli, Egypt and Palestine on his Biography. https://www.perkins.com/en_GB/company/heritage/frank-perkins-story.html Nothing to tie him specifically to the 28th Division. There is a ref he was with the 34th Div. But they seem never to have been in Egypt so not logically correct 1915 Star is Gallipoli in Aug 1915. An outsider but a possible. Certainly similar face. Guest Posted 29 December , 2021 Share Posted 29 December , 2021 Fascinating post. Apologies for what may be an ignorant question, but is it possible to get a high quality reproduction of this? I have SGT BAVERSTOCK's medals and would love to include this as part of the display...

I'm glad you found my post, and it's good to know his medals are in safe hands. You'd be more than welcome to a copy of the postcards, I've scanned them at 1200 dpi, but the original's are not the clearest; I hope they're ok.
