This is a photo from a family research project and I was hoping someone could give me information about the collar badge, belt and decoration on his cuffs. Is there anything here to indicate he was in the medical corps

Certainly a Major. I can't make out the collar badge but it doesn't look like the RAMC.

Is that a Queen's South African Medal ribbon?  (over to the medal experts).

Major York & Lancs

The Y&L has the rise over the tiger as a collar badge or cat and cabbage as it’s sometimes called these look far more like the ASC as previously stated

Thanks so much for all your help. Can anyone verify the Queen's South Africa medal ribbon?
