maudson Posted 10 June , 2019 Share Posted 10 June , 2019 I have tried for most of today to establish when Charles Arthur Major joined the 6th Battalion of the Northamptonshires. His Regimental Number was 30917. He was killed on 29th April 1917 and is remembered on the Arras Memorial. I have tried to find and follow other Northamptonshire soldiers with reasonably close numbers but have found none adjacent and no pattern that I could discern. Is it possible? Many thanks for any ideas. David

maudson Posted 11 June , 2019 Author Share Posted 11 June , 2019 Many thanks Acknown That clarifies it. My man was less than 2 months in France before he was killed.I tried to work from Charles Arthur Major backwards and forwards in the Medal Roll with no real success. It seems that some parts of the alphabet were hit by the WW2 bomb more than others. Many Thanks for the time and trouble. David
