Jojessholli Posted 6 June , 2019 Share Posted 6 June , 2019 Hey Guys Can anyone find any details online about 9573, Frederick Rose - KRRC 4th Battalion before December 1914? He was a Birmingham man born 1891. Regards Vic
PRC Posted 6 June , 2019 Share Posted 6 June , 2019 (edited) I don't know if it gets you any further forward to identifying his family, but the Army Service Numbers site shows that for the Regular Army Battaions of the KRRC, that 9551 joined on 12th January 1910 and 10334 joined on 2nd November 1911. http://armyservicenumbers.blogspot.com/2009/06/kings-royal-rifle-corps-regular.html That would make it very likely that he had enlisted by the time the 1911 Census of England and Wales was taken on the 2nd April 1911, and so most likely is the 21 year old Private Frederick Rose, born Birmingham, who was recorded in barracks with the 1st Battalion at Gosport, Hampshire. Hope that helps, Peter Edited 6 June , 2019 by PRC Typo
