Pirate Posted 4 June , 2019 Share Posted 4 June , 2019 Hi. I have a No 85 fuze dated 1915. All the info I read say they started making them in 1916 . Any thoughts. Dave

trajan Posted 5 June , 2019 Share Posted 5 June , 2019 You will be surprised at just how often official dates and things don't match actuality! But, yes, it does seem odd - but I am not a fuze person.
Gunner Bailey Posted 5 June , 2019 Share Posted 5 June , 2019 Notifications to the WO 'List of Changes' often lagged months behind the actual event. A good example being the No 35 Rifle Grenade which the LOC states was introduced on the 18th March 1918 but in reality they had been in used on the front from mid 1917. So an error (or difference) of 9 months at least.
