BStaples Posted 30 January , 2005 Share Posted 30 January , 2005 Good Afternoon, I'm looking for your recommendations and suggestions of the best sources of information. Specifically on... - World War One (British) Medals, Insignia and Badges of the Royal Field Artillery Any assistance, suggestions or recommendations will be greatly appreciated. Thanks! HarryBettsMCDCM Posted 30 January , 2005 Share Posted 30 January , 2005 Brad. For a good all round introduction into WW1 Medals I would suggest the Book by Alec A.Purves on 1914~18 Awards,However as the Artillerys Motto of Ubique suggests Service eveywhere,British Battles & Medals by Joslin{Formerly known as "Gordons BB&M"}Published by Spink {various Editions from the 1940s onward}would probably be more interesting as all 19th & early 20th Century Medals[& Later] are Described & Details of Numbers Etc Awarded Given,There aren't many Campaigns that the RRA didn't receive a Medal for!@ least for not being there!. Gary Samson Posted 30 January , 2005 Share Posted 30 January , 2005 However as the Artillerys Motto of Ubique suggests Service eveywhere... Surely you're being too generous! We all know 'ubique' really means 'all over the place'! Gary
Muerrisch Posted 30 January , 2005 Share Posted 30 January , 2005 "Dress of the Royal Artillery" SBN [predates ISBN] 85368491 X by D A Campbell is superb. Covers more than your period but it is a marvellous bible.
