The village was retaken by the 40th Australian Battalion, 3rd Australian Division, 24th August 1918. Whippet tanks captured by Germans and recaptured by British during Somme advance, near Meaulte, 20 September 1918. Note written captions in German reading "Erobert v.d. II Armee Captured by the Second Army". American wounded being treated by staff of the 110th Sanitary Train, 4th Ambulance Corps (US 1st Division) in an old, destroyed church at Neuville-sur-Ornain. French Chasseurs who will accompany the replacement troops of the US 339th Infantry Regiment on the Eastern Wharf at Dundee. Section of the US Navy cooperating with the British Navy, lying at anchor in the Firth of Forth, 20 September 1918. There are six battleships in all among which are USS New York, USS Kansas, USS Kentucky and USS Texas.
