Guest assbaq Posted 30 January , 2005 Share Posted 30 January , 2005 I have a medal (no ribbon) from my great uncle his name was (Edwin?) Oswald Davies. It says on it "21st Siege Battery. 1918 -19 AFC. I have had no luck trying to find a listing in the London Gazette for him - or in the Nat Archives. Does the AFC stand for the Air Force Cross? I can find no other acronym apart from the Auzzies - which he obviously was not. I am a beginner at this - any help very much appreciated. eviltaxman Posted 30 January , 2005 Share Posted 30 January , 2005 Assbag, (cool name!) It's not going to be an Air Force Cross. AFC is more likely to be a football medallion, especially as it's got dates on it. Any chance of a scan or photo, we can then be more sure? Les.
