Remembered Today:

French WWI plaque

Sgt Stripes

Does anybody have information regarding this WWI French plaque, I have been told they were made for soldiers killed in action in the Dardanelles and the Salonika campaign. Please see attached images.

The monument pictured on the plaque was erected in Marseille to honour those who died, as you say, in Gallipoli and Salonica.

There would presumably have been a committee to oversee the building of the monument and  plaques could have been presented to its members.
