daggers Posted 16 May , 2019 Share Posted 16 May , 2019 A small point: the man who started the movement was Calvin, not ...an. They may do otherwise in Wales. what a great series! d

Dai Bach y Sowldiwr Posted 16 May , 2019 Share Posted 16 May , 2019 Morning Mark, The church (Llangeinwen) , has a nice Roll of Honour, with the names of those who served,as well as those who died. http://www.anglesey.info/llangeinwen-war-memorials.htm
clive_hughes Posted 16 May , 2019 Share Posted 16 May , 2019 The denomination is nowadays called the Presbyterian Church of Wales (as distinct from the Anglican Church in Wales). Lionel F.S.Sotheby on the memorial has a whole book to himself, as his letters and diaries survived - Donald C.Richter (Ed.) Lionel Sotheby's Great War (Ohio University Press, 1997). He was a junior officer of the Argylls attached to Black Watch, and was killed at Loos 1915.
