James A Pratt III Posted 2 May , 2019 Share Posted 2 May , 2019 on youtube.com there is a section Drachinel which has some information on warships some of which is not too accurate, some ships vs ship and and a few what ifs? One is: The last Ride of the High Seas Fleet The Battle of Texel 1918 instead of Mutiny the HSF sails out to fight the Grand Fleet in late 1918. MikB Posted 3 May , 2019 Share Posted 3 May , 2019 I couldn't find it. But The problem I have with counterfactual histories is that the more you look into the underlying circumstances and causes of the actual events, the less chance you usually find of them turning out differently. SiegeGunner Posted 3 May , 2019 Share Posted 3 May , 2019 Correct spelling seems to be 'Drachinifel'.
Hyacinth1326 Posted 3 May , 2019 Share Posted 3 May , 2019 (edited) Many of the best officers and key rates had been systematically siphoned off to the U-bootwaffen since late 1916. 1917 Battle of the Baltic Islands aside, there has to be a question mark over the calibre of HSF personnel in 1918. James A Pratt III Posted 3 May , 2019 Author Share Posted 3 May , 2019 Sorry about the typo. and yes the caliber of the officers and men of the HSF had gone down since 1916 do the best officers and men being sent to man the U-boats. If you feel glum and need a laugh you need to watch: The Russian 2nd Pacific Squadron Voyage of the Damned. on this site
