Remembered Today:

Uniform of this man

George Rayner

Recommended Posts

This soldier purports to be Herbert Miller b 1897 d 1965 from Nottingham.

I can't find his records but hoped that this-the only photo I have-can be of help.

Any ideas about regiment etc please

Herbert Miller

I agree with Pete that the shape of the badge in the photo, although indistinct, chimes with that of the SNH, although I would not have expected to see 1914 leather equipment.  Usually 1903 Bandolier Equipment was the norm.

The other obvious contender, the Notts and Derby Regiment does not seem so likely when comparing badges.

Thanks for sharing your knowledge and thoughts. Now all I need to do is track his records.

It might help confirm things if you could try to post a picture focusing in on just his cap of the optimum size that you can manage.
