Remembered Today:

Mr Peter McDermott

Recommended Posts

Patrick McDermott was at Jutland on the Marlborough. Later he is recorded as being on President 111 - then ended the war on the Vivid. These last two were shore establishments and fronts for Defensively Armed Merchant ships or Q ships.I can find no record of the actual Q ships ( because that is what they actually were ) on which he served

Come  WW2 he rejoined on HMS President 111 but as the DEMs gunner on SS Rutland which was sunk by a Uboat  on Oct. 30 1940. All hands were lost
