I'm very grateful to members of the forum for their help and advice with this piece, and I'd be grateful for any more comments or corrections.

 

I'm currently working on a similar piece on another of my great-great uncles on the other side of my family, Major (later Brigadier) Henry John Gordon Gale, D.S.O.*, R.A. (also 224 Siege Battery, though at a later date than Cook), and will post that as well as soon as it's done.
