Ken Lees Posted 27 January , 2005 Share Posted 27 January , 2005 Can anyone suggest where I am likely to find information/nominal rolls etc. of Volunteer Battalion companies which served in South Africa during the Boer War? I want to establish which men of the 9th King's who served in the Great War had previous service in the forerunner of this unit (the 6th Volunteer Battalion, King's Liverpool Regt.) Thanks in advance, Ken
SteveE Posted 29 January , 2005 Share Posted 29 January , 2005 Ken The Queen's and King's South Africa Medal Rolls will provide a list of all those men serving with the King's (Liverpool) Regiment (including volunteer battalions) in South Africa and are usually listed in Battalion order. They are held on Microfilm at Kew (although some Regimental Museums have copies) and the relevant piece numbers are WO100/172 (QSA) and WO100/321 (KSA). Hope this helps.
