condronjames Posted 11 April , 2019 Share Posted 11 April , 2019 Hi all I was given this frame a few years ago, and wondered if anyone had come across one before. Any idea of age/maker/value (not that it’s for sale). It has the names of key battles of the war around the sides, the dates of the war across the top and the words In Proud and Loving Memory across the bottom. Thanks James
seaJane Posted 11 April , 2019 Share Posted 11 April , 2019 Looks like a frame for a written Roll of Honour or some such. I wonder whether the battles are every one of the GW battles, or just the ones the regiment participated in...
Dai Bach y Sowldiwr Posted 11 April , 2019 Share Posted 11 April , 2019 Naval battles on the left, land battles on the right. I suspect a local/chapel/church Roll of Honour frame.
condronjames Posted 11 April , 2019 Author Share Posted 11 April , 2019 On doing some further digging it seems another of these sold on eBay (although can’t see how much for). https://www.worthpoint.com/worthopedia/ww1-large-copper-cenotaph-proud-424811080
