Oh well, at least he got the family name right I suppose. If you are dealing with the LIR museum and they would like copies let me know. Bert's son (John) died a couple of months ago and I have more material to go through which I believe contains a diary kept during the war, and several letters from the trenches.

 

Here is another one for you. Bert on the cycle, Jack in the sidecar.

Actually I came across the photograph in a copy of a book on the London Irish Rifles written by Lt Major held by the  IWM. It was privately published in 1996 and a small print run and even the LIR Museum doesn't have a copy.

Distantly Steve, son of a brother of my great grandmother, not directly related. My great grandmother was one of 10 children.
