BobbyT Posted 7 February , 2019 Share Posted 7 February , 2019 (edited) Dear Great War Forum Members, I am totally new to this method of communication, so "please be gentle with me"!. There are two particular Forum Members who may be interested in the information that I hold on Tom Gale and his Exeter Family,........"ph0ebus" and "seaJane". Tom Gale, born 5/3/89, died 7/11/20 Tom Fathered three children, who eventually produced six Grandchildren. Two of these Grandchildren are now dead, and I am one of the remaining four. So, Tom Gale was Grandfather, and his second child was my dear Mother. I would be delighted to share all information that I have on the Gale Family, and to assist in clarifying one or two errors that inevitably emerge during the Tracing of Family Histories. horatio2 Posted 7 February , 2019 Share Posted 7 February , 2019 Welcome to the Forum. Are you aware that his service record shows his d.o.b. as 5 March 1892?

Are you aware that his service record shows his d.o.b. as 5 March 1892? Dear Horatio2, Thank you so much for replying,............and I must apologise for not responding sooner. A good job that you flagged up the question of Tom Gale's DOB. The date that I wrote initially was wrong. I have now checked my records here, as follows,...........as you say, His Service Record clearly states DOB as 1892. However,......1892 is also incorrect. Tom Gale's Marriage Certificate (1912), records Him as being 21,........so DOB 1891. Tom gale's Birth Certificate records DOB as 5th March 1891. Also, Tom Gale's Birth is recorded in the Birth Records for April, May and June 1891,.......(So His Mother (Lavinia), must have slightly delayed registering the birth). Horatio2,.........may I ask if you are, in some way related to the Exeter Gale Family?. It would be wonderful to correspond on the various Family Members,.....(particularly the Brothers Percy and William) Sincerely BobbyT Edited 30 March , 2019 by Michelle Young Email address removed
