Beirnaert Posted 30 January , 2019 Share Posted 30 January , 2019 Hello, Looking for photos of the "étape"-village of Avaux-le-Château in the Ardennes department. During WWI it was a quiet village behind the front, used by the Germans troops when they had some days off. Most Germans where stationed in the quarry of Berry-au-Bac (Hill 108 & 91). Few photos and pictures have remained. I'm eager to find out more about this place. Thank you. Mark
