Looks like a Canadian mark on the bottom - WD arrow within a C, at the 06:35 position in that photograph..

Don't be shy! You can show the decoration as well!.

Top case (post #1) was made by Armstrong Whitworth, Birtley, Durham. Bottom case was made by Metal Drawing Co., St Catherine's, Ontario.

I concur. It seems the primary source* is in error (not for the first time).
