bloxwichteam Posted 16 January , 2019 Share Posted 16 January , 2019 Hi can any one provide any information on William Fellows of the Imperial Service Serial Number 7558. I believe he was from either Bloxwich, Blakenall or Walsall. Many Thanks George
alf mcm Posted 16 January , 2019 Share Posted 16 January , 2019 George, You should find his service record here;- https://recordsearch.naa.gov.au/SearchNRetrieve/Interface/ListingReports/ItemsListing.aspx Regards, Alf McM
bloxwichteam Posted 16 January , 2019 Author Share Posted 16 January , 2019 Thanks Alf, tried link but it had timed out, so searched for William Fellows and could not find a record with his serial number. Can you suggest what to search under. Interesting that his record is in Australia, never thought to search outside uk. I'm in the process of trying to find all those who served from Bloxwich, Blakenall or Leamore for my Bloxwich Remembers website. Thanks again for your help George

George Rayner Posted 16 January , 2019 Share Posted 16 January , 2019 Quote The Australian records are born in Clapham or Seaton Delaval and two Australians I think from my first use of that link. George

alf mcm Posted 16 January , 2019 Share Posted 16 January , 2019 (edited) George, Sorry for misleading you. When I read your query and saw 'Imperial Service' I immediately thought of the Australian Imperial Force. I was at work at the time and didn't have a chance to check properly. Just noticed that if you search for Bloxwich in the London Gazette for the war years you will get some useful results. https://www.thegazette.co.uk/all-notices/notice?end-publish-date=1918-12-30&text=BLOXWICH&start-publish-date=1914-08-27&location-distance-1=1&service=all-notices&categorycode-all=all&numberOfLocationSearches=1&results-page-size=10&results-page=4 Regards, Alf McM Edited 16 January , 2019 by alf mcm London Gazette added.
