simond9x Posted 16 January , 2019 Share Posted 16 January , 2019 (edited) I found this photograph amongst my mother's old photographs. I don't recognise the person but maybe the uniform would give me a clue. Can anyone please help with information on the regiment or other aspects of the uniform please? It's possible that it's just someone 'dressing up' in someone else's uniform. Many thanks in advance for any help. RaySearching Posted 16 January , 2019 Share Posted 16 January , 2019 Could that be a young lady underneath the uniform ?
ARABIS Posted 16 January , 2019 Share Posted 16 January , 2019 I think this is a female dressing up with her hair tied back & hidden under the cap. The curved cane looks more civilian than military.
Dragoon Posted 16 January , 2019 Share Posted 16 January , 2019 I agree with Raysearching and ARABIS, this is a wife/girlfriend / sister dressed in what jay dubaya correctly described in his post. There are quite a few of these pictures about. Chris

simond9x Posted 16 January , 2019 Author Share Posted 16 January , 2019 Thanks for the quick replies. It did cross my mind that the person might be female when I alluded to them dressing up. A branch of my family did live in Gloucestershire so I'll send it to them to see if they can identify him/her and, indeed, the original owner of the uniform. Thanks again.
