Guest Posted 15 January , 2019 Posted 15 January , 2019 My father was L/cpl 240655 Joseph Meade Kehoe Liverpool Rifles and was awarded the MM for gallantry at Givenchy on 22 May 1918. I have his medals and did see the citation about 25 years ago but to my regret, cannot recall it’s wording and the document has been mislaid in the family. Online research has not traced it and I believe the records may have been lost in a fire during WWII. The question I have therefore is can I find out more details of the reason for the award? Thanks in advance.
roughdiamond Posted 15 January , 2019 Posted 15 January , 2019 Best bet would be to check with family members if you've seen it in the past, if that draws a blank try newspapers local to where he lived. Sam
Derek Black Posted 15 January , 2019 Posted 15 January , 2019 There are no existant copies to be found of British M.M. citations in any archives. You could also try the btn war diary on the off chance it is mentioned. I'd get looking for it everywhere in the hope it's only been mislaid. Derek.
BillyH Posted 15 January , 2019 Posted 15 January , 2019 I thought I had cracked it here, but he was too modest to give the details! BillyH.
Ken Lees Posted 15 January , 2019 Posted 15 January , 2019 I have a copy of his citation, but I am away from my files for the next couple of weeks. Tony, if you have a look at my website - http://www.9thkings.co.uk you will find my e-mail address. Feel free to e-mail me in a couple of weeks and I will scan it and send it to you. Ken
