Tomb1302 Posted 10 January , 2019 Share Posted 10 January , 2019 (edited) Hello, Bit of a shot in the dark here, but what is the probability that there be a picture of the men of the 8th Battery of the 3rd Artillery Regiment in the French Army, right before Maubeuge in 1914? Even more specifically, one of a certain Paul Dieras who is a relative of mine? It would mean the world to me if I could present a picture of of him to my family. Thank you. George Rayner Posted 11 January , 2019 Share Posted 11 January , 2019 Unfortunately not I'm afraid. I cant find any trace for him where I have looked so far. Or parent/brother either. I will message a friend in France who may be able to help-although you are possibly as well placed as he is! I'll try however another course of enquiry this evening. George Thank you so much for your help George. If I provided you with his "Fiche de Matricule", would you have more key information? Unfortunately, that isn't the case. I am not currently residing in France. Please let me know what assistance I can provide. Thanks again!

George Rayner Posted 12 January , 2019 Share Posted 12 January , 2019 I am sorry to say that I haven't been able to find anything at all. I don't have access to anything which led anywhere at all I'm afraid. French colleague did a quick search but as yet nothing. George

I understand the task is a tricky one. I am curious though, have you found no information regarding the Dieras family at all, or just not a photograph? Also - without trying to be pushy or forceful, I do have a couple other names I'd like to try if you find the time. Thank you.
