Keith_history_buff Posted 9 January , 2019 Share Posted 9 January , 2019 There is a Soldato G Fulgoni who is commemorated by the CWGC. His death date is recorded as 9 October 1918. https://www.cwgc.org/find-war-dead/casualty/4041848/FULGONI There is a GRO record, recording the death of Giuseppe Fulgoni in Q4 1918 in Marylebone District, Volume 1A, Page 1234, and a birth date of 1884. You would have to see the death certificate to know if these refer to the same person. (He appears to have an MIC for a furtive request for campaign medals?) It all gets very confusing with the Italian equivalent of CWGC/SDGW as they only have one G Fulgoni: Link to the image of page 334, with all known Fulgoni fatalitieshttps://www.difesa.it/_layouts/15/MdDEvoluzione-Layouts/Archivio/AlboOro/7/334.jpg Search engine for the Albo d'Oro dei Caduti e Dispersi della 1ª Guerra Mondialehttps://www.difesa.it/Il_Ministro/CadutiInGuerra/Pagine/AlbodOro.aspx Quote FULGONI, Giuseppe, [son] of Carlo Soldier 201° infantry regiment, born 9 October 1896 in Bardi, Parma military district, died on 1 August 1917 in Bardi caused by illness It seems like more than a coincidence that the CWGC death date is similar to this man's birth date, and yet he seems to have died in Italy! I wonder what has happened here. It looks like two different people. Is the Brookwood man needing the Italian equivalent of "In from the cold" treatment?
